So, why am I the "Mad Herbalist"?

Everyday people are being told that there is nothing that can be done for their illness. Some are being scheduled for surgery, to have an important organ removed. Others are just being given a hand full of narcotics to "ease the pain". Personally, I'd like to know what is causing the pain and address that, but that's just me...

I'm a "mad herbalist" because no one is telling these people that there might be a solution to their problem through Natural Medicine or Alternative Medicine. Yes, I said medicine, because for over 5,000 years this type of medical treatment was the norm.

Yin, Yang, Herbs, and Human Energy were the healing arts that cared for and saved many lives, but then came the Industrial Age. Man saw that he could make a small fortune by placing patents on synthetic variations of herbal cures. The next step was to eliminate the Herbalists, which they did by creating the AMA, whose goal was to stop Natural Medicine. For 60 years, the Natural cures were found only in books, but not any more.

Though not viewed highly by the medical community, the Herbalist, Natural Healer and Alternative Healer are making a strong come back.

Oh, but wait... we are not allowed, by law, to use certain words like ;

DOCTOR - even though some of us hold Doctorates

CURE - even though we provide the means of healing or restoring to health, sometimes called a remedy.

Just for fun, here's what the dictionary has under "cure"; a means of healing or restoring to health; remedy. So, we can use the description, but not the word. Somehow, that doesn't make much sense to me.

DIAGNOSE - even though we ascertain the cause or nature of a disorder, malfunction, problem, etc. from the symptoms.

Let's look up this word (diagnose) in the dictionary; to ascertain the cause or nature of (a disorder, malfunction, problem, etc.) from the symptoms.

I don't know about you, but I see a pattern here. I wish I had a cure... oops I mean remedy for "Stupid", but I don't.

PRESCRIBE - nope we can't use this one either, but just for fun let's look it up in the dictionary. (Medicine/Medical) to designate remedies, treatment, etc., to be used.

Alright now, let's be fair. If I can't use prescribe, because that word is just for conventional medical doctors, then they shouldn't be allowed to use "remedies" or "treatment". If they can't play nice, I'm going to take my DOCTOR BAG" and go home.

Just for the heck of it, let's do one more.

TREAT - to deal with (a disease, patient, etc.) in order to relieve or cure.

Oh Great! There's that "C" word.

By now, you probably picked up on the fact that I have a bit of an attitude. Hey! I am the "Mad Herbalist" after all.

Seriously though, the one thing that really upsets me is that many people don't know that there are natural remedies that are totally safe. They don't have the harsh side effects that conventional medicine does. That upsets me because many of these people end up suffering through an illness, when they really didn't have to.

I believe that God gave us a REMEDY for all of the ailments that would come our way. Our job is to simply find them. Many of these have been found, but because they are plants, no one can put a patent on them so you won't be seeing them at your Doctor's Office any time soon. Fortunately, there are Herbalists, like myself, who can offer them to you.

Thanks for visiting this website and for reading my rantings. Now you know why I am the "MAD HERBALIST".
